Tutor’s Teaching Background

Pursued a diploma in Early Childhood Development Education, and after graduating I have been teaching in the industry the past three years. Have guided and taught a class of toddlers turning 2 how to identify different letters through songs and activities, and sensory play. Have also introduced and taught them how to recognise number symbols through a consistent routine of songs, activities and play. Relieved a class of children aged 2 to 3 years old by conducting lesson plans and teaching them how to identify letter names, and letter sounds. Taught age group 5 to 6 years old English and math, and created lesson plans for the children as their main teacher. Taught phonics using letter chart and some worksheets, and engaging activities to interest the students. Taught how to count, addition, number symbol recognition, subtraction using various materials such as number cubes, things in their environment etc. I believe children learn better when they are engaged, and aim to make learning fun again for kids with my experience as a preschool teacher that taught the past three years. I believe in building a relationship with not just the child but the parents, to better support the child’s learning development. Every child is different, as each individual is unique with different strengths, different needs and different learning paces! No experience tutoring 1 to 1, but have taught in large and small group settings as well as 1 to 1 while other children are playing in a classroom setting. Will gladly provide necessary materials or work around materials provided at the student’s place. I have taught, assisted and interned at the following preschools: - EtonHouse - NAFA arts preschool - MOE kindergarten - sunflower tinkleland Taught/ am currently teaching a class of 1 to 2 year olds. Relieved level partner in taking her classes and conducting lesson plans for children aged 2 to 3 years old. Assisted in lessons for class of 3 to 4 year olds for one year. Took a class of 4 to 5 year olds for 6 months. Assisted in lessons for class of 5 to 6 year olds for one year.
