I also have experience in teaching group classes (up to 3 students). - I’ve taught over 30 students from Secondary 1-5 across all streams (N(T), N(A), Express) - Students have improved by 1-2 grades on average after 4 months of tutelage. My students were initially scoring F9s and E8s at MYES, passed with C5s and B4s at the prelims before scoring A's at the O levels! - Results of some of them (able to provide pictures of their grades/messages for proof): 1. Student from Commonwealth Secondary School - From E8 at Sec 3 EOY to A2 for English and A1 for Literature in English at N(A) Levels 2. Student from Punggol Secondary School - From C6-B4 throughout Sec 3 to A2 at both N(A) Levels and O Levels - My teaching style is to focus on each component of the paper, ensuring that the student is extremely familiar and picks up the relevant skills before we proceed to practising the entire paper and working on time management. The way I conduct my lessons is also more discussion-based with the student, as I believe that this helps them to hone their oral skills and get better at thinking on their feet. I also believe that this collaborative approach allows me to build rapport with the student. I value creating a comfortable learning environment for students to clarify doubts with me any time, even out of lessons. - As a dedicated tutor, I respond to my students' doubts over text as quickly as possible. Closer to exams, I will also free up more time if the student requests for more classes. I also conduct timed practices in place of the mid-year examinations that were taken away to allow students to acquire time management skills. - I prepare my own notes for students, as well as incorporate the use of flowcharts, mind maps and tables during class discussions! While I will first begin with tackling the ten-year-series, I also have many past year school papers prepared. - Familiar with SPERS-MI format
