Tutor’s Teaching Background

I have relevant teaching experience working with autism students. I have worked as a special needs teacher at St Andrew's Autism Centre for 2.5 years. My students range from my low functioning to high functioning. I am patient with my students. Prior to that, I have one year experience of teaching a kid with mild autism sitting for the IGCSE curriculum.  I created a daily schedule that indicated the subject and topic of the lesson taught. I created a reward chart as a form of positive reinforcement. My lessons were taught with the help of visuals and videos to help him understand the concepts of the topic. I used simple and repetitive instructions during tuition, to help him to stay focused during the lesson as part of his progress. I did short mock tests or weekly assessments as well. I provided feedback to the parents about his academic progress and checked in with them if they would like to work on other areas such as his behavior, communication, or social skills. I'm pretty comfortable working with special needs students.
