[SUMMARY] I take pride in tailoring every single lesson to the needs of my students. This includes preparing material which is engaging, relevant and helpful for every lesson such as slides and worksheets. I also imbue passion into my teaching and do my best to keep my students interested in the subject. [LESSON BREAKDOWN] I do so through, - Tailored and engaging lesson materials - Tailored lesson content created real-time according to the students' needs - Engaging and personal lesson delivery [ACHIEVEMENTS] I am a current Law undergraduate studying at Singapore Management University. In my course of study, I have learnt how to write in a precise and clear manner. Before my time at SMU, I achieved consistently top grades for English (in Catholic High) and General Paper (in Eunoia JC). In Eunoia, I also led several humanities/language programmes including: - President of EJC Press (Editor-In-Chief of The Origin*) - Vice President of EJC Bicultural Studies Programme - Assistant Group Leader of Eunoia Strategic Affairs Society - Top 20% of the cohort for General Paper throughout my JC years + A for GP at A Levels I have extensive experience teaching a range of upper secondary and JC students; - Volunteered to teach one Sec 3 student and specialised in discursive essay writing: focused on essay format and content - Sec 3 student improved to an A2 in English - Taught one PRC Sec 4 student and specialised in vocab improvement - Volunteered in teaching a group of JC students for GP: most of them improved to be within the top 20-40% of the cohort From time to time, I create worksheets that are useful for tackling a specific component of the exam. These worksheets usually include: 1) Summaries of previous lessons, 2) Practices, 3) Discussion of pieces of news, 4) Learning Reflection Sharing a self-made worksheet I made for teaching Chinese previously: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1nGQenYZ4uQyMCK7wBeePpCXLHkqGEyPZ/view?usp=sharing I prefer to take a practical and structured approach to teaching. A typical and general lesson looks like this: 10m: Settling in, discussion of school work 20m: Discussion of homework given last week 20m: Discussion of a piece of news from each PEST quadrant (political, economic, social, tech) and how it can be applied 5m: Break 15m: Skills Lecture (Teaching a new skill like writing an introduction) 20m: Practice time (Depending on what is needed)
