Tutor’s Teaching Background

Experienced Math Tutor (8+ years, 1-1 teaching). 2016-2018: Tutored two secondary school students in A Math and E Math. Improved their grades from failing to B3 in O Levels. 2018-2021: Guided one student through secondary school math (Sec 1 to Sec 4). Helped improve her from struggling to achieving A2 in A Math and B3 in E Math for O Levels. 2019-2021: Tutored 1 IB SL Math student who had just dropped from HL due to poor performance. Successfully helped them achieve a perfect score (7) in IB SL Math. 2021: Prepared a student from Winstedt International School for the AEIS exam within one month, leading to a placement at Fairfield Secondary (NA level). Online Tutoring Experience (2020-2023): Conducted secondary-level math tutoring sessions via Zoom for three students across various academic tracks (Express and Normal Academic). Using online tools to enhance engagement and understanding, I created interactive sessions tailored to each student’s learning style. Through structured lessons, targeted practice, and ongoing support, my students consistently achieved outstanding results—one scoring A1 in O Level Math and another attaining a high score of 2 points for Math in N Levels. 2023-Present: Currently tutoring two students in IB SL Math and O Level Math. Both students are highly satisfied, and we are preparing for their major exams at the end of 2024. I believe in fostering a deep understanding of fundamental mathematical concepts, allowing my students to build confidence and tackle complex problems with ease. My approach is logical, creating an encouraging environment where students are comfortable asking questions. I emphasize consistent practice, tailored exercises, and positive reinforcement to ensure steady progress. By breaking down challenging topics, I help students overcome anxiety around math and achieve their best possible results.
