How JPACT online tuition is being conducted?
It will be via Zoom/ Google Hangout or Skype software. Resources can be scanned and uploaded online for easy reference and allows student to retrieve at ease. Soft copy of homework will be sent to student before the start of the lesson. Do ensure that you have the following devices set up for online tuition. Both webcam and speakers are working.
I am currently located overseas. Can I enrol online lessons to prepare my child for JPACT examination with your centre?
Yes, we have a team of experienced online JPACT tutors to prepare your child for the oncoming important examination.
How can I know the teaching experience of your JPACT tutors?
We will be sending detailed credentials of JPACT tutors such as relevant teaching experience, academic performance, qualification, hourly rate and schedules for your consideration and confirmation.
I am currently located in United States. How can I take the tuition based on the time zone in United States?
We have ready tutors who are available to teach at any time zone, regardless the country that you currently in.
How can I get the materials/ resources based on JPACT syllabus?
Our Online tutors will recommend the most relevant soft copy materials that will tested towards JPACT examination.
What is the minimum lesson to be taken per week?
It will be advisable to take minimum of 2 lessons per week. Students on average took up 1.5hrs to 2hrs per lesson with our online tutors. The actual number of required weekly lessons may varies, solely based on the help needed by each student.
Do I have to pay additional fees if I engage Nanyang Tuition’s services?
We do not charge any commission for tutor engagements. Instead, we collect 50% of one month’s worth of tuition/lesson fees from you and have the tutor collect the other 50%.E.g. you have engaged a tutor for 2 lessons per week, Which means there are 8 lessons every month. In this case 4 lessons will be paid to Nanyang Tuition and the other 4 to the tutor. Thereafter, full lesson fees will be made payable to the tutor at the end of every 4th week of lesson or even at a period agreed between both tutor and parent.
Should I pay my tutor in advance?
If you are located in Singapore currently, we advise parents to pay tutors after completion of lessons at the end of each month/ 4 weeks of lessons and if possible, to document the payment to tutor for future reference.
How can i cancel my engagement of tutor, before the 1st lesson has been commenced?
For termination of an assignment before its commencement, parents are required to notify Nanyang Tuition of their intentions to do so at least 7 days prior to the commencement of the assignment. Otherwise, an administrative charge for last-minute cancellation of SGD 50 will be imposed.
How do I know if my information is kept safe and confidential with Nanyang Tuition?
All your information is kept safely in our records and we will never, under any circumstances, reveal them to any third parties. Your name, address, contact details and child’s current situation details will be released to the tutor for pre-lesson communication only after confirmation of the engagement of tutor and tuition start date.
I have an existing engagement with a Nanyang Tuition’s Tutor. It hasn’t been a month but I feel like replacing him/her?
Our tutors are carefully selected and matched to your requirements. Hence, with the exception of inappropriate behavior and the apparent lack of competency, we strongly encourage parents to assess the suitability of their newly engaged tutor after a minimum period of (1) month.
I don’t think the tutor is suitable for my child after the 1st lesson. What options do I have?
We grant parents the flexibility of “trying out” a selected tutor during the 1st lesson until they find the most suitable tutor. However the lesson is still payable and fees will be paid out to Nanyang Tuition upon completion.
Is there a contract binding to engage Nanyang Tuition?
At any point of time, should you or your child finds the teacher's teaching is not suitable, You may inform us to terminate the teacher with immediate effect after the lesson. Moving forward, there is no contract binding to engage a tutor from us. Most importantly, the teacher's teaching method must suit your child's learning style. This is an area where Nanyang Tuition focus on; to help you and your child with his/ her education journey. However, we strongly encourage parents to assess the suitability of their newly engaged tutor after a minimum period of (1) month.
How do I know if my engaged Tutor is truly as qualified as he/she claims?
Our Tutors are all carefully screened based on their background, credentials and track records by our Tutor management team. They are also required to produce true copies of their academic records and certificates for verification purposes upon your request.
How can I make payment for the 50% of lesson fees during the 1st month of lessons to Nanyang Tuition?
Parents may make payment via Cheque, Bank Transfer, PayLah!, Paynow or PayPal.
Where do Nanyang Tuition Tutors come from?
All Nanyang Tuition Tutors graduate or are enrolled in reputable education institutes including National University of Singapore (NUS), Nanyang Technological University (NTU), Singapore Management University (SMU), Singapore University of Technology and Design (SUTD), Singapore Institute of Technology ( SIT), Singapore Institute of Management (SIM/UNISIM), National Institute of Education (NIE, PGDE) and many more. They may also be ex/ Current MOE School Teachers in Local Government Schools, full time tuition centre teachers, full time tutors, experienced working professionals, SPERS/ JPACT/ AEIS/ S-AEIS specializing teachers and many more.
I am currently located overseas. How can I make payment?
For Students who are located overseas, wanting to take up the Online Lesson ( Via Zoom/ Skype), monthly tuition will be will collected in advance, before the start of lesson.
For example, if there are a total 8 lessons to be conducted (based on 4 weeks), all you need to pay is for the 8 lessons fee in advance before the start of each month.
There will be no additional charges, ie registration / GST/ Admin fees etc. The only possibility might be online materials fee. However this case is minimal as most likely, the tutors will be using online free materials to teach. However it will be good, if students has gotten hold of our Singapore assessment books/ materials and has started practicing.
